More from Rowan Coffee about what makes this one special:
The Hamasho washing station works with over 600 farmers who primarily grow the 74158 variety. The Hamasho station is owned by Daye Bensa, who also owns the Keramo washing station from which we have purchased from the past two years. Because of Hamasho's high elevations, sunny days and cool nights, and humidity, the cherries ripen slowly and are very small and dense. We find this type of morphology to often lead to very complex cups that are a real treat to roast! We've had both washed and natural lots from Hamasho in the past and year over year, the quality is consistently excellent.
We're finding tons of ripe blue and purple fruits that remind us of blueberry and açaí, tropical fruits like mango and lychee, and perfumey florals. Though it is very fruit forward, we find this lot to still be clean and articulate, which is one of the main factors we consider when purchasing naturals.
