For the month of November, we’re thrilled to feature two incredible coffees from our friends at Rowan Coffee and Cooperative Coffee in Asheville, North Carolina. These folks are true pillars in the Asheville coffee community, and like everyone in WNC, have been navigating the aftermath of Hurricane Helene as best as they can. Bringing them on the menu at Sightsee is one small way we can help them out (and is selfishly a way for us to enjoy more of our favorite coffees from two of our favorite roasters).
The Coffees
From our friends at Cooperative Coffee, we’re featuring Verano Tropical, a lactic washed Colombian offering by the remarkable Proyecto Renancer in Medellin. This coffee has delicious citrusy acidity and pineapple sweetness, with a syrupy body brought on by the lactic fermentation.
From our friends at Rowan Coffee, we’re featuring Hamasho, natural process Ethiopian sourced from a co-op of over 600 farmers. This coffee boasts juicy notes of blueberry and açaí, with sweet elderberry florality. It’s super well-balanced and clean — a true delight to drink!
We hope you’ll swing through the shop to try a cup or buy a bag of beans (in-store or to ship online)!
More Ways to Help
We’d also like to note that Asheville small businesses like Rowan and Cooperative need our continued support well beyond November. While the rest of the world moves forward, WNC will be in a state of rebuilding for a long time, and continued cash flow is critical for their recovery efforts. So, please consider continuing to order beans directly on their sites or think about buying their merch as holiday gifts in the months ahead!
Another way to help is to contribute to GoFundMe campaigns set up by Rowan and Cooperative to help support their staffs during this time of rebuilding and upheaval.
